Three years since its initial announcement, Team FOLON's massive conversion mod, , is finally available to download and play on PC following a surprise announcement on July 25. As its name would suggest, moves the post-apocalyptic franchise to England, showing how another part of the world is coping after the bombs fell, featuring new factions and quests. It has also attracted voice talent such as 's Asterion actor Neil Newbon, 's Anna Demetriou, and alumni Sylvester McCoy and Colin Baker.
Despite Bethesda Executive Producer Todd Howard previously stating that he currently has no official plans to set future games outside of the U.S., has certainly shown there's a demand for it, with many fans heralding it as being the closest they'll get to a new installment any time soon and being keen to see how the series translates to a different region. Unfortunately, Team FOLON experienced some delays in production due to the surprise drop of 's "" patch, which resulted in the team working with GOG.com to develop and test a launcher to roll back the game to the previous version to ensure could be released closer to its original intended date.
While is available on PC via GOG and Steam copies of that have been rolled back to an older version, it is not playable with copies purchased through the Epic Games Store due to the launcher not supporting update rollbacks. Team Folon has indicated that it still plans to offer a version of the mod updated for next-gen at some point further down the line, which will presumably work with Epic Games Store copies.
