Assassin's Creed Valhalla and Vikings were the peak of Norse content in their respective categories, but the DLC, Dawn Of Ragnarok, and the spin-off show, Vikings: Valhalla, both serve the same purpose more so than their predecessors. Norse content is never in short supply, but Ubisoft and History Channel seem to be at the forefront of this supply with Assassin's Creed Valhalla and Vikings. Vikings ended its six-season run only a couple of months after Assassin's Creed Valhalla was released, and since Valhalla is a single-player game with limited content, the market needed to expand. Ubisoft and History Channel likely knew this and both released new additions to their franchises in 2022, with Dawn Of Ragnarok and Vikings: Valhalla, which both take their respective franchises in new directions.
Dawn Of Ragnarok is a possibly canon DLC expansion to Assassin's Creed Valhalla, that places the character in a new map with mystical enemies, new weapons and loot, and introduces god-like stories. Dawn Of Ragnarok is so large that it could be seen as a semi-sequel to Assassin's Creed Valhalla, which brings similarities to the companion show to Vikings, Vikings: Valhalla. This companion show picks up one hundred years after the events of Vikings and continues building on many of the conflicts and political events of the main show. Assassin's Creed Valhalla takes place only a few hundred years before the events of the very first installment. While the DLC and the spin-off show may not be directly related in terms of content or characters, they both serve the same purpose.
