iPhone 14 Pro may get the one feature that is extremely hyped but not many may end up using it! Yes, we are talking about the Always On Display feature that has been around on Android phones for years and is now finally making it to the iPhone, if the rumours are true. It is said that the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max will get this feature as an exclusive, courtesy of their new LTPO display technology. That said, there’s no idea on whether the iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max will get this.
Always On Display has been around for years on Samsung phones and essentially keeps showing a minimal interface once the device is locked. The feature is a battery hog and is best implemented when the phone has a variable refresh rate OLED display. The Apple Watch has this feature as it can drop its refresh rate to 1Hz when showing the AOD feature. Hence, the battery drain is very low on the new Apple Watch Series 7 with AOD on.

All this information comes from Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, who also sheds light in the upcoming announcements at the WWDC22 event. One of the big ones is iOS 16, which is now said to get some big changes this year. iOS 16 is now said to get a major lock screen redesign, or rather more like new lock screen wallpapers that will have some widget-like features.
