Apple is all set to roll out the new iOS 16.1 update today, October 24. The update will arrive with new features, bug fixes, improvements in the current software and much more. iPhone users will get new exciting features including iCloud Shared Photo Library, Live Activities, Clean Energy charging, and others. The iOS 16.1 update will be rolled out for iPhones that are compatible, i.e, the iPhone 8 and other iPhone handsets released after it. Know how to download the iOS 16.1 update here.
Open your iPhone and head to Settings.
There, tap on General.
Next, click on Software Update and then tap on Download and Install.
Agree to the Terms of Service and the latest iOS16.1 will be installed on your device.
Restart your iPhone and you’re all set to use your device and enjoy the latest features.
“This update introduces iCloud Shared Photo Library making it easy to keep your family photos up to date. This release also adds support for third party apps in Live Activities, support for Apple Fitness+ on iPhone even if you don't have an Apple Watch, and includes other features and bug fixes for your iPhone,” Apple shared in its iOS 16.1 release note.
iOS 16.1 Live activities features will let users keep track of what is happening in real-time from the lock screen. The feature will be extended to third-party apps and allows them to track sports scores, food delivery etc. Additionally, iOS 16.1 will also allow iPhone users to delete the Wallet app. Moreover, iCloud Shared Photo Library will make photo sharing easier as it will add up to five people who can add, delete, edit, mark-as-favourite and caption.
