That might be hard to believe looking at it now, but it had a sense of immersion that helped elevate the fantasy series, putting it on par with its AAA contemporaries. This immersive quality may not be easy to appreciate nowadays, but a recent mod for the game is attempting to inject a little something to help keep this classic alive and well.
Morrowind Mod Allows Players to Unleash Their Inner Bob Ross
Over on Nexus Mods, as seen by PC Gamer, user abot has released a modification for Morrowind they simply call «Footprints.» As can be inferred from the title, the mod adds footprints to the game. A video shows it in action, with the player walking around a snowy region, leaving imprints on the ground. However, it should be stated that this may be an ongoing project, as the creator says that some of the footprint placements may not «always be accurate.» Still, it's a little extra immersion in this retro role-playing game, and the video does make it look pretty impressive.
