Selva Interactive have announced the availability of their resource management title Illuminaria on Android. The independent game development company will release it for iOS and Nintendo Switch platforms later this summer.
Illuminaria features elements of base-building, tower defense, and dungeon exploration. There are also hints of RPG elements since you are supposed to command a horde of intelligent robots. The mission is simple: to save the planet called Illuminaria. This involves specific tasks. You can mine resources that will help with the upkeep. There are also missions to manage and defend multiple bases.
Players can also fight in auto-battles, go on expeditions and research new technologies. You can also create your army of golems to ‘bring back the light’ to the planet. Not only that, you get to manage multiple caves simultaneously.
There are adorable robots, essentially your minions within Illuminaria, who efficiently complete complicated tasks with simple instructions. As you explore the world, you will also explore the lore behind the planet.
Selva Interactive have based the game on inspirations from various resource management games. These include Oxygen Not Included, Frostpunk and Rimworld. Their objective with Illuminaria has been to “make a game in such style but with a friendlier learning curve and with defined goals and constraints to make it welcoming and accessible.”
Serving elements of technology and fantasy-based games, Illuminaria is available on Google Play and iOS store for five dollars.
