That's according to Variety which has revealed the Game of Thrones prequel continues to go from strength to strength with each passing episode. With its fifth episode airing this past Sunday, the show is now averaging 29 million viewers per episode. That accounts for people watching when it airs on HBO, and also everyone who has watched it since on streaming platforms like HBO Max.

That's why the number of people reportedly watching House of the Dragon has risen so drastically since episode one. It was revealed shortly after it debuted that 10 million people tuned in to watch House of the Dragon's first episode making it HBO's most-watched season premiere ever. More and more people have checked it out on various platforms since then to the point that more than 30 million have now seen that first episode.
Since its average across five episodes is currently 29 million people, that would suggest the show has a pretty good retention rate. Unsurprising considering how gripping the show has been so far. No major spoilers here if you're not one of the tens of millions of people to have checked it out yet, but episode six will be House of the Dragon's next big test.
