Guerrilla Games has been hard at work fixing numerous bugs and performance issues in Horizon Forbidden West. The latest update addresses strange glitches that would teleport Aloy to different parts of the map if she sneak attacked specific enemies and also provides multiple crash fixes. It may not be the flashiest of news, but it's important work that ensures the game is enjoyable for all.
Game Informer broke down some of the biggest fixes. Multiple main quests had bugs patched out that should now prevent issues such as fast travel being disabled, or Aloy and NPCs being stuck in certain areas. This patch also corrects a cutscene during the Thebes mission where Aloy's breathing could be heard during a cinematic sequence - creepy, no one likes a mouth breather.

The patch also cleaned up some problems with numerous side quests. things like killing enemies before an objective tells you to should no longer block progression, and all the NPCs should be in their correct positions once quests are handed in. Some NPCs were unresponsive if interacted with after loading from specific saves, and some machines didn't respawn after fast travelling, but those kinks should all be ironed out now.
Unfortunately, the devs also fixed a bug that caused finishing the Gauntlet Run last to award players with a win. A win's a win, whether it's by coming in first or some mysterious glitch, so we're sad to see this get patched out.
