The machines are the robotic animals that populate the world of Horizon Forbidden West. These mechanical monsters are scattered far and wide, and come in all shapes and sizes — from the small Burrower to the enormous Tremortusk. These will be the main enemies you come up against throughout the game, although most of them can eventually be overridden after visiting certain Cauldrons.
