Hilary Duff says she doesn't know who the father in How I Met Your Father is, saying she prefers the mystery. The series is a spinoff of the hit comedy series How I Met Your Mother, which ran for nine seasons on CBS. How I Met Your Father premiered as a Hulu Original, airing a 10-episode season 1, and has already been renewed for season 2.
How I Met Your Father follows Duff's Sophie who, like Josh Radnor's Ted, is looking for her soulmate in modern-day New York City. Like its predecessor, the show uses a framing device in which an older Sophie (Kim Cattrall) recounts the stories of her youth to an unseen son, which will ultimately culminate in how she met her child's father. HIMYF has received mixed reviews from both fans and critics since it released, with many divided on the show's use of nostalgia and familiar storylines from How I Met Your Mother. Most importantly, after season 1, the father's identity was nowhere close to being revealed.
