Taking out Terminids in Helldivers 2 is as challenging as it gets, but the latest patch has led to a new meta of the EAT Stratagem and Recoilless Rifle combo. To be more precise, there is now a Helldivers 2 anti-tank meta that lets the players take down bugs with relative ease. This adds a whole new dynamic to approaching face-offs with beasts such as Chargers and heavies.
Changing the meta in a new patch is something characteristic of online games. The same goes for the online co-op shooter Helldivers 2, where each new patch leads to a new combination of Helldivers 2 weapons that work best together. The newest anti-tank meta offers players a better shot at downing a variety of hard-to-beat bugs lurking on Super Earth.
In a recent Reddit post, user LaDiscoDiCristo shared some changes that appeared after the latest patch. It was revealed that EAT Stratagem and Recoilless Rifle are “now possibly the strongest anti-tank option against bugs.” Further, the user found that these two weapons can kill a Charger with a single headshot and Bile Titans with 2 to 4 headshots.
The post noted that EATs could be called every minute and were effective in dealing with roughly up to 2 Chargers per minute on average. It also highlighted that they could be used several times over time to deal with more than 2 heavies. Highlighting the weapon’s power, the user revealed that the Stratagem was still powerful with the worst modifier equipped. Moving on, the Recoilless Rifle adds on to this by eliminating multiple heavies faster and with more efficiency.
Thanks to the new meta, existing Helldivers 2 players who have grown too familiar with the old gameplay can get a new, rewarding experience. The beefed-up anti-tank meta not just gives the game a well-timed refresh but also makes the fight more balanced against tougher Terminids. The ability to terminate Chargers and heavies in just a few shots levels the playing field better.
Since it came out, Helldivers 2 has had a scintillating reception
