Work on Heartstopperseason 2 has already begun, with a casting call looking for a familiar face from the graphic novels. Created by Alice Oseman, Netflix’s Heartstopper is based on Oseman’s adored graphic novels. Both the series and original novels see Nick (Kit Connor) and Charlie (Joe Locke) navigate their new relationship. The already passionate Heartstopper fanbase boomed with the release of the Netflix series earlier this year, helping to make the live-action adaptation a success. Quickly following its release, Heartstopper season 2 and 3 were confirmed by the streamer in a rare two-season pickup.
Heartstopper season 2 appears to be following in its predecessor’s footsteps with an open casting. Oseman recently announced via the show's official Instagram account that Netflix and See-Saw Films are looking for their Sahar Zahid for Heartstopper season 2. The post also confirms that this is the only character that Heartstopper season 2 will cast through an open process, likely due to the sheer number of anticipated applicants for such a popular series. Check out the casting call below.

Fans of the Heartstopper graphic novels will already be familiar with Sahar after her initial introduction as Tara, Darcy, and Elle's friend from school. Sahar appears during a field trip to Paris that joins both schools, quickly making friends with Nick, Charlie, and Tao. If Sahar’s casting is anything to go by, then this could suggest that Heartstopper season 2 will stick closely to the plot of the graphic novel, similar to season 1. Quick work is being made on the show with the above casting call
