HBO Max may be known as a streaming service that prioritizes quality over quantity, but it's set to add both next month. Screen Rant can exclusively reveal that the platform will be increasing its offerings of premium movies in August 2022 thanks to a large assortment of A24 titles from the last decade. Founded in 2012, A24 has already made a name for itself as the home of high-profile series such as the Emmy award-winning Euphoria and top-notch films such as last year's Oscar nominee Minari.
Euphoria is one of several A24 productions already available on HBO Max, as part of a large collection that includes beloved off-beat series such as 2 Dope Queens and Pod Save America. But now, perfectly timed to A24's tenth anniversary, the streaming platform is set to add a massive collection of films to its roster. The impressive list includes Oscar-winning films such as Room (starring Brie Larson in her pre-Captain Marvel days) and Ex-Machina (starring Oscar Isaac on the cusp of his Star Wars debut) as well as beloved titles like The Spectacular Now and Amy.
