Within a few days of its February 11 Western region release, Amazon's Lost Ark was one of Steam's most-played games making its launch incredibly successful. Many players had been patiently waiting for the MMORPG since it was released in South Korea towards the end of 2019, and it seems that a large number of gamers jumped online to experience Lost Ark for themselves, with concurrent player counts passing one million soon after launch. It can be hard for new MMOs to break into the higher player numbers with so many great examples of games in the genre to pull their attention in multiple directions.
