With each generation of Pokémon comes another opportunity to catch them all, but sometimes this is harder said than done. Between version exclusives, Pokémon that evolve via trade, and National Dexes, the Pokémon games offer a lot of hurdles that trainers have to overcome. But sometimes, these hurdles can be set so high that capturing every single pocket monster available in a game can almost be impossible.
Indeed, a lot of event Pokémon from older generations are no longer accessible without the use of glitches or Action Replay. On top of this, these older generations require trainers to purchase the hardware necessary to play them, and considering that retro Game Boy games and Game Boy systems are growing older, they are becoming rarer to come by (and more expensive to boot). Thus, the obstacles placed in the way of Pokémon completionists are not only those in the games themselves but the monetary requirements needed to own all devices and titles necessary to complete a Pokédex.
