Sarah Lancashire leads the series as the formidable Catherine Cawood. She’s a hard-working Sergeant and police community officer, working in the beautiful yet sometimes deadly Yorkshire landscapes. In the Calder Valley, she is faced with plenty of tragedy; some of which hit home many years before.
Sgt. Cawood has a particular history with Tommy Lee Royce, played by James Norton. She blames him for the death of her daughter and has a complicated relationship with her grandson Ryan (Rhys Connah) because of their shared bloodline. It is in this final season that we will see the love the two have for one another stretched to its limits. Not only that, but a family betrayal forces Sgt. Cawood into a corner.
