A Halo fan recently reenacted the famous Needler reload animation with the most unlikely of weapons: a house plant in a cat-shaped flowerpot. Microsoft's flagship sci-fi FPS series has introduced players to an incredible range of futuristic firearms, grenades, and even energy swords over the past two decades — from the standard-issue United Nations Space Command equipment Master Chief and other playable heroes start each mission with to the more fantastical arms taken from the opposing Covenant and Banished forces threatening humankind.
One of the more unique and recognizable of the many alien weapons players can confiscate in the Halo series is the Covenant Type-33 Guided Munitions Launcher, or “Needler” as it is more commonly called. This purple handgun was introduced in the original Halo: Combat Evolved and has been a recurring staple of the series since. It stands out from the rest of Halo’s arsenal due to its special kind of ammunition — instead of firing bullets or energy bolts, the Needler launches glowing crystal-like shards (called Subanese crystals) that explode after being shot into their target. These shards are stored on the top of the Needler, which reloads by popping several of them out at a time.

A Twitter user by the handle of kommanderkarl recently recreated the Halo Needler's unique reload animation using a hand-sized potted plant in a brief video clip. They start by dramatically assembling the cat-themed flowerpot, just like Halo's Master Chief loading his guns before another epic fight to save the universe.
