A Halo Infinite leak has revealed voice lines for an upcoming Infection game type. It is a relief for many fans to see Halo Infinite finally add the iconic game type to its selection.
When Halo Infinite was first released in 2021, it received a mixed reception from fans, as it was missing many features that had become franchise staples. One notable exclusion was Forge mode, which finally arrived in November 2022. The response to the developer became so negative that Xbox head Phil Spencer had to release a statement reaffirming 343 Industries' importance to Halo going forward after rumors suggested it would no longer helm the franchise. It would be a staggering change in direction, given 343 Industries was created for the sole purpose of taking over the Halo franchise.

A new leak comes from the Halo Leaks YouTube channel, showing off voice lines for the currently unreleased Infection game type. The footage features Jeff Steitzer's iconic announcer, who has narrated the multiplayer ever since 2001's Halo Combat Evolved. As well as this, there are voice lines from the Banished's Iratus, suggesting the Infection announcer may change depending on the player's team. This is backed up by an earlier leak of Halo Infinite's Season 3 Alpha build, which suggested there would be a huge focus on Infection in 2023, with Iratus featuring.
Infection has been a huge part of the series ever since Halo 3 and has remained a staple ever since. The mode is key to many custom games and maps, which is a big part of the reason players continue to play Halo games years after their release.
