At the end of this month, Rockstar Games will unleash GTA+, an all-new Grand Theft Auto Online membership program for players on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S consoles. Rockstar is far from the first developer to add a subscription service to its pre-existing online game. Many may recall that Bethesda Game Studios launched Fallout 1st as a premium subscription model long after Fallout 76 hit store shelves.
Since its arrival nearly a decade ago, Grand Theft Auto Online has served as nothing short of a lucrative venture for Rockstar Games and parent company Take-Two Interactive. It explains why the experience launched in a standalone capacity for new-gen consoles earlier this month. Of course, the ongoing content updates keep players coming back for more, with the most recent of such updates going live late last year in the form of The Contract. This particular release brought GTA V protagonist Franklin Clinton back to the fore, along with an interesting story starring legendary rapper and producer Dr. Dre. It's clear Rockstar still has bigger plans for its hit online suite, though.

A new post on Rockstar Newswire details the latest addition to Grand Theft Auto Online — GTA+. As the name suggests, this constitutes a premium subscription plan that will offer easy access to a slew of benefits. The service will launch on March 29 for PS5 and Xbox Series X/S platforms, boasting a $5.99 price tag and first month membership bonuses for those who hop in early.
