EIGHT STUDIO’s colossal gacha game Grimlight takes players into an anime world inspired by classic fairy tales. Well, for those who can actually play the game, that is. As it turns out, the gacha’s much-anticipated launch is mired by Grimlight maintenance, lasting over a day.
Grimlight is still trapped in a cycle of downtime over a day after its launch on Android and iOS. Since release, players across the world have been unable to play the fairy tale gacha game. Despite multiple updates from the developer, it appears that players still have a while before the game runs flawlessly.
In an update from the developers on Discord, EIGHT STUDIO explained that they were blindsided by the sheer number of players. While there were a hefty amount of preregistrations, the developers did not anticipate such huge player counts on launch day.
“I would like to apologise to everyone about the poor opening launch for Grimlight, “ the developers said in a statement. “Due to our obvious lack of preparation and operational capacities, it had caused significant server issues which has resulted in frustration and bugs for everyone. There is no excuse for our mistakes and our team is terribly sorry.”
Grimlight maintenance did end for a spot earlier this morning. However, maintenance eventually restarted in Asian territories after mere hours. At this point, fans are wondering if the game will ever be actually playable.
After over 24 hours of Grimlight maintenance, fans are furious. With fans attempting to get into the game for a day straight, many are convinced that the game will never end its downtime. In fact, some are under the assumption that downtime will continue until the game closes down.
