Grand Theft Auto 6 Could Release Between April 1st, 2024, and March 31st, 2025
Take-Two Interactive revealed its fourth quarter and fiscal year 2023 results, hitting a record high of $5.3 billion on net bookings. However, it seems the publisher has big plans for fiscal year 2025, which runs from April 1st, 2024 to March 31st, 2025. The company touted “several groundbreaking titles” in that fiscal year, which it believes will “set new standards in our industry” and “achieve over $8 billion in net bookings.”
It could mean that Grand Theft Auto 6, the next big open-world from Rockstar Games, will release in this window. Take-Two stated “For the last several years, we have been preparing our business to release an incredibly robust pipeline of projects that we believe will take our company to even greater levels of success.”
It also expects to sustain the momentum from its project fiscal year 2025 net bookings and deliver “additional growth in our operating results” for fiscal 2026 and beyond. The only title that fits the above descriptors and could achieve all that, especially if it receives extensive post-launch support, is Grand Theft Auto 6.
IGN noted that the current fiscal year’s net bookings are a record high for Take-Two, thanks to its acquisition, with previous net bookings hovering around $3 billion. Thus, hitting even higher net bookings seems possible if the publisher has a massive new release coming up. The part about setting “new standards in our industry” is similar to when Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick said Rockstar is determined to set “creative benchmarks for the series, our industry, and for all entertainment” with the next Grand Theft Auto.
It does fit with previous rumors about the game potentially being revealed this year (if not early next year) and then releasing in 2025.
