After a bit of a bumpy ride with GT Sport, Gran Turismo 7 gets the series back on track, for the most part, at least. With more than 400 cars available, it's the most content-rich Gran Turismo game to date, and, thanks to the immense power of the PS5, the best looking too, by some margin. However, as is often the case, there's a whole lot more than just impressive variety and bleeding-edge graphics going on under the game's hood.
The Most Realistic Racing Games Ever Made
Despite its many strengths, Gran Turismo 7 is far from a perfect game. The way that players progress through the main single-player campaign, for example, can be a little repetitive, while the decision to lock key game modes away behind story progress is a baffling choice, to say the least. The game also includes a gambling mini-game and excessive microtransactions, both of which tarnish the overall experience quite a bit.
The Gran Turismo series has always prided itself on its realism, and this is once again the case in Gran Turismo 7. The attention to detail really is quite astounding, though it can make the driving experience a little intimidating at first glance. This feeling melts away pretty quickly though, and, in the event that it doesn't, the game's highly customizable difficult settings should help.
Just like its predecessors, the game does a fairly decent job of teaching players how they're supposed to interact with it, though there are a few things that it skips over here and there.
