A playtest for Gotham Knights has been spotted on SteamDB, hinting that WB Games Montreal’s upcoming superhero game might be launching sooner than expected. Gotham Knights was officially announced at 2020’s DC Fandome livestream and will serve as a spiritual reboot of Rocksteady’s excellent Batman: Arkham series. The game's story takes place after the mysterious death of Bruce Wayne and will follow his former sidekicks Batgirl, Nightwing, Red Hood, and the Tim Drake version of Robin as they take up the Dark Knight’s mission of defending Gotham City from the sinister Court Of Owls — as well as classic villains like Mr. Freeze and the Penguin.

The recent delay of Rocksteady’s own Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League has led some fans to wonder if Gotham Knights will be pushed back further, but WarnerMedia CEO Jason Kilar recently reassured players that both Gotham Knights and Hogwarts Legacy will still make their planned 2022 releases.
