When WB Interactive first introduced Gotham Knights, the question on many fans' minds regarded how many heroes could fight together at one time and how many players could control them. Well, with a recent gameplay overview for Nightwing and Red Hood, that question has finally been fully answered to the disappointment of some fans following a recent rumor from the PlayStation Store.
News broke a few days ago about the listing for Gotham Knights on the PlayStation Store, claiming that the game would come with four-player co-op when played online. However, it would seem that WB Games Montreal never intended for this to be the amount of players able to jump into missions together, either local or online.

As has now been corrected on the PlayStation Store, Gotham Knights will come with two-player co-op when playing online, instead of the four-players that the earlier listing had shown. Additionally, the recent gameplay footage for the game includes wording that implies that two-player was always the intended way for fans to team up while online. All of this confirms that multiplayer will be limited to two-players when online and single-player when playing offline. However, this may be for the best if WB Montreal's previous comments through interviews and gameplay reveals regarding online co-op is to be taken at face value.
This two-player limit on the multiplayer remains in line with previous comments made by the developer during interviews with IGN, GamesRadar, and other media outlets.
