WB Games has denied any connection between Gotham Knights and the upcoming TV show of the same name. While the upcoming action RPG from WB Games Montreal shares many similarities with the Batman: Arkham series, the studio has confirmed that Gotham Knights isn’t connected to the Arkham universe. Instead, the developer of 2013’s Arkham Origins has revealed that it will serve as a full continuity reboot for the series even though the premise of the new game’s story coincides with the conclusion of 2015’s Batman: Arkham Knight.
Gotham Knights was originally announced way back in 2020 during the DC FanDome virtual event that year. It was initially scheduled for release in 2021 but was ultimately delayed to later this year, with an exact release date of October 25, 2022. Unfortunately, WB Games has revealed that the game won’t be released on all the platforms it was expected to arrive on. The new game was anticipated to be a cross-generation title and become available on the Xbox One and PlayStation 4, but it was recently confirmed that Gotham Knights would be exclusive to current-gen consoles along with a release on PC.

The Gotham Knights Twitter account recently published a Tweet confirming that the game and the upcoming TV series of the same name are completely separate projects and have no connection with each other. Even though both the game and TV show are set in a post-Bruce Wayne Gotham and feature the Court of Owls as their main antagonists, they are completely unrelated. Furthermore, the game is being made by WB Games Montreal while the TV show is being developed at The CW and Berlanti Productions.
