Following The CW ordering Gotham Knights to series, several cast members react to the big news of their show going forward. Since 2012, The CW has been the home of the Arrowverse, an interconnected universe based on multiple iconic DC Comics heroes from executive producer Greg Berlanti. Starting with Arrow, the Green Arrow drama paved the way for multiple spinoffs that, in turn, fleshed out the larger Arrowverse. From long-running shows like The Flash to newer series like Superman & Lois and Stargirl, the Arrowverse has been one of The CW's most popular franchises, which will be turning 10 years old as of this October.
For the 2022-2023 TV season, The CW is bringing another Batman-related series to their slate. From Batwoman writers and producers Chad Fiveash, James Stoteraux, and Natalie Abrams, Gotham Knights will focus on Bruce Wayne's adoptive son, who joins forces with the children of Batman's enemies. After they are framed for the Caped Crusader's murder, they will fight to clear their names while also becoming the next generation of DC heroes. While The CW has recently cancelled three other DC dramas, the network gave Gotham Knights a series pick-up as of last week.
