Nope's box office numbers prove that the mysterious sci-fi horror film is generating buzz, but some fans have left theaters wondering about certain unexplained scenes. The Haywood siblings, OJ and Emerald (Daniel Kaluuya and Keke Palmer, respectively), interact with attraction owner Jupe (Steven Yeun), a former child star who fills them in on his short-lived sitcom, Gordy's Home. He explains that the chimp who played Gordy went berserk during one episode, forcing the network to cancel the show, but fails to provide any additional background. A flashback later shows Gordy killing several cast members on the soundstage and getting shot upon showing familiarity with young Jupe.

Although the chimp's rampage and a shoe inexplicably standing up next to Gordy are never fully explained in Nope, Jordan Peele adds necessary context to the mystery with a newly-revealed intro for Gordy's Home.
