The Google search page is symbolising the onset of Spring with bright colourful flowers and bees. People around the globe celebrate the first day of spring and this officially starts the Persian New Year.
Greeting people on the occasion of Nowruz 2022, Google Doodle today wrote, "The northern hemisphere is saying goodbye to cold, barren landscapes and hello to spring’s budding leaves and blooming flowers. It can be known that Nowruz is one of the oldest holidays and has a rich history that dates back over 3,000 years. Also, Navroz is a Persian word where Nav means 'new' and Roz means 'day'.
The 13-day celebration begins with the vernal equinox when the sun crosses the equator. This widely symbolizes rebirth and the affirmation of life in harmony with nature. Several countries like Afghanistan, Iraq, among others celebrate Nowruz as a public holiday.
For many, common traditions include house cleaning, visiting friends and neighbors, and preparing traditional dishes such as special desserts, herb rice, and fried fish.
