Throughout the course of the Dragon Ball series, Goku has displayed a number of abilities that are god-like in nature as the power he wields is immense on a cosmic scale, however, in the early days of Dragon Ball canon, Goku reveals he has one ability that is much more down to earth–one which proves that he is basically Dragon Ball’s Wolverine.
Goku made his debut in the first chapter of the Dragon Ball manga as the series’ protagonist and immediately proves his strength just in the first few pages. Not only is Goku able to tangle with the most threatening creatures of the forest with little effort, but he also displays incredible durability after he is shot with a bullet and takes almost no damage. As the series progresses, Goku refines his physical strength through the form of intense training under the tutelage of Master Roshi, all the while using the inherent abilities he was gifted at birth.

In Dragon Ball Chapter 29 by Akira Toriyama, Krillin and Goku were in the middle of training with Master Roshi who decided to pit his students against each other to see which one was superior. In that effort, Roshi threw a stone deep into the forest and told both Goku and Krillin to work independently to find it as the first person to bring the stone back to Roshi would be able to eat dinner that night while the loser would have to go to bed hungry. While Krillin was immediately concerned with his chances of finding the stone before Goku as the forest was vast and he didn’t have the first clue as to where it landed, Goku jumped right into action as he had a way of finding the stone with little effort: by using his heightened senses.
