A funny God of War PC mod transforms Kratos into an even worse father by adding extra lines of dialogue to certain scenes. Plenty has been said about Kratos' parental skills in God of War and the upcoming Ragnarök sequel. In the original trilogy of games and the various spinoffs, the character seemed far removed from the role of fatherhood given the tragic events that set the Santa Monica Studio-created series in motion.
The soft reboot that hit stores in 2018 positioned Kratos as the sole parental figure, a widowed single father who evidently found it difficult to connect with his only living child. In watching his interactions with Atreus, some critics and players deemed him a bad father for whom they felt contempt. However, even early in the story, Kratos shows signs of trying, attempting to slowly peel back the many layers of rage built from years of battling the Greek pantheon in God of War's original trilogy. How he'll fare parenting a slightly older Atreus in God of War: Ragnarok, of course, remains to be seen.
