A skilled God of War player has just revealed an impressive sculpture of Mimir’s talking severed head. Kratos’s recent journey across the Nine Realms of Nordic mythology earned widespread critical acclaim when it launched on the PlayStation 4 a few years ago, and excitement for the upcoming sequel God of War Ragnarök builds with every passing day and rumor. In the meantime, talented fans have celebrated the God of War reboot by recreating Kratos’ signature Blades of Chaos and the God of War version of Thor’s legendary Mjolnir with an impressive level of detail, in addition to great fan art and cosplays of characters like Kratos and Freya.
Kratos acquires plenty of useful weapons and items as he travels with his son Atreus to spread his late wife’s ashes across the highest peak in the Nine Realms in God of War, as well as meeting a wide range of memorable characters — friend and foe alike. One of Kratos and Atreus’s most helpful allies is Mimir, a former advisor to Odin and the Gods of Asgard who is sealed inside a tree by the vengeful All-father for aiding the Giants of Jötunheim before the events of God of War (2018). He is later found by Kratos and Atreus, and the former cuts off Mimir's head to take with them on their quest. From here, the disembodied head of Mimir provides guidance and stories of the old Gods, much to Atreus's wonder and Kratos' annoyance. In this role, Mimir became quite popular with fans and has inspired fan-made Christmas ornaments and PlayStation 5 console accessories in the years since his gaming debut.
