Sucker Punch's recent depolyment of Ghost of Tsushima Update 2.18 marks the end of development support on the title after roughly two years. As PS4's beloved swan song, Ghost of Tsushima amassed much success out of the gate and now sits at well over eight million copies sold across PlayStation's last-gen and current-gen hardware. It hit store shelves in July 2020, with critics and players alike shouting developer Sucker Punch's praises.
The love for Ghost of Tsushima grew over time as many will recall, especially once the open-world adventure received a free co-op multiplayer mode in the form of Legends. Launched on PS4 in October 2020, Legends allows players to choose from one of four classes — Assassin, Hunter, Ronin, or Samurai — to complete missions inspired by Japanese mythology. Both Legends and the main game have continuously received updates since 2020, many of which included gameplay improvements, bug fixes, and new features. And last August saw Sucker Punch unleash Ghost of Tsushima's Iki Island DLC and PS5 upgrade. Other major changes sit on the horizon for the development crew, as well.

Earlier this week, Sucker Punch rolled out Ghost of Tsushima's 2.18 patch on PS4 and PS5. The update features bug fixes, items changes for the Legends mode, and "small" changes related to the base game, the developer noted in a post on PlayStation's website (via PlayStation LifeStyle). A message from Sucker Punch at the end of the post also informs players that developers "aren’t actively working on any additional patches at the moment."
