The Game Awards creator Geoff Keighley has hinted that more "big video game deals" are in the works, suggesting that we may see more studio acquisitions announced later this year.
In a tweet on his professional Twitter account, Keighley claims that he's heard from "multiple people" that several video game acquisitions are allegedly in the "final stages of negotiations", although he doesn't mention what companies are involved for obvious reasons. Seeing as though Keighley is responsible for some of the industry's biggest events, it's safe to assume we can take him at his word.

As for which companies Keighley could be alluding to, PlayStation seems like a solid bet for further acquisitions. While Sony doesn't have the same financial power as Microsoft, the company hasn't spent nearly as much cash, and Microsoft may be a little wary of spending more due to the FTC's upcoming review of its acquisition of Activision Blizzard.
We also have the statement from Sony CEO Jim Ryan to consider, who recently claimed that PlayStation users should "expect more" studio acquisitions in the near future. In a recent interview, Ryan stated his desire for PlayStation to start focusing on multiplatform releases, a feat that would be easily accomplished by acquiring more third-party studios.
