Since the release of Elden Ring, the newest title from Souls and Bloodborne creators FromSoftware, players have been sharing their experiences with the game, whether they be great or not so great. Since the initial announcement of Elden Ring at E3 2019, the game had been hotly anticipated by fans for a new experience from the developer.
Elden Ring follows the story of the Tarnished, exiles of the realm known as the Land Between, who are summoned to search for the Great Runes, scattered shards of an ancient relic known as the Elden Ring, which held power over the land. Much of the game’s world building was written in collaboration with George R.R. Martin, the author of Song of Fire and Ice, who has since praised the game and how FromSoft was able to translate his work into the final product.

A staple of many games from FromSoft’s library is the exceptional difficulty found within each title. Games like Demon Souls and Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice are infamous for having boss encounters that test a player’s abilities to the fullest. Hidetaka Miyazaki, director of Elden Ring, has addressed how the game tries to change that perception, but clips such as following show that things can still get quite difficult very fast.
On Reddit’s r/Eldenring, user madnessnewb showcased a clip of their encounter on a castle wall with one of the various ghostly enemies that Elden Ring has to offer. The encounter appeared to be simple enough, as they dispatch them with ease, but the success caused them to topple off the castle wall back down to the ground.
