Since its release, Genshin Impact has been pulling in millions of gamers into its ever-growing community. Part of its popularity stems from its huge roster of well-designed and fun-to-play characters. Though since miHoYo continues to add more four and five-star characters to the roster, it might be time to rethink the game’s standard banner.
Genshin Impact’s gacha system involves making a Wish on any available banner. Generally, there are three types of banners: The standard one (Wanderlust Invocation), the weapon banner (Epitome Invocation), and limited-time character banners. For a long time, the standard banner has featured the same set of five-star characters — Diluc, Jean, Keqing, Mona, and Qiqi.

Pulling for certain characters can prove difficult for many players, especially since a majority of them are only available on limited-time banners. Given this, changing up the standard banner seems like the ideal course of action to make older five-star characters more accessible. There are multiple ways miHoYo could do this.
One option is to include some of the older five-star characters to the standard banner. Characters like Albedo and Klee, who were released in 2020, could be good choices for this. That said, adding more characters to the standard banner — especially five-star ones — makes it even more difficult for players to get the one they were aiming for, as it increases the number of variables per pull.
