Genshin Impact is known for the variety of anime-inspired playable characters and many unique ways to build them. Artifact pieces have always been one of the most important parts of a character's build, especially in the latter stages of the game.
However, acquiring Genshin Impact artifact pieces with perfect stats is almost impossible due to the game's multiple RNG layers. Adding a new element to the game would surely have a significant impact to the drop rates of specific artifact pieces.

While there is still no official confirmation, multiple leaks have already revealed that the new major update will introduce a new element to Genshin Impact named Dendro. A recent post on the official Genshin Impact subreddit points out an interesting problem about the drop rates for Goblets which is one of the five types of artifact pieces that can be equipped. Goblets are a very important part of a build since they can include elemental damage as its main stat. Redditor cLuckb has given two different variations of how HoYoverse might implement the Dendro elemental damage bonus into the drop rate system.
The best case scenario would mean that the drop rates for the two least desired stats, HP and DEF percentage, get lowered in order to make room for the new 5% drop rate for Dendro damage bonus. However, the worst variation of the new system would include decreasing the already low drop rates of the various elemental and physical damage types from 5% to 4.38% so the Dendro damage Goblet can fit in. This would make it even harder to for Genshin Impact players to get a specific elemental damage bonus while farming artifact pieces.
