PlayStation 5 consoles will reportedly be available at some GameStop stores this Thursday, January 27.
That’s according to tech newsletter The Shortcut, which said it was informed of the retailer’s plans by GameStop employee sources.
GameStop last sold PS5 console bundles at selected stores on January 14, when they were reserved for PowerUp Rewards Pro members.
Priced at $14.99 / $19.99 annually depending on the chosen package, GameStop Pro membership provides users with loyalty rewards, extra trade in credit, a Game Informer subscription, and access to exclusive offers and events.
Last Friday, GameStop also offered PowerUp Rewards Pro members the chance to purchase a PS5 bundle online. Priced at $744, it included the console, an additional Cosmic Red DualSense controller, Call of Duty Vanguard, a 12-month PlayStation Plus subscription and a $50 GameStop gift card.
Sony recently started taking new registrations for the chance to buy PS5 consoles directly from the company.
Having made a limited number of PS5 consoles available for US consumers to purchase from PlayStation Direct over the holiday season, it’s now taking fresh sign-ups and has extended the offer to some European countries.
Registration is currently open for players based in the US, UK, Germany, France, Netherlands, Belgium and Luxembourg. They will need to use an email address associated with a PlayStation Network ID and opt in to receive marketing emails.
