Don’t be a wretch So Elden Ring is amazing, as expected. And, as expected, I’m trying to blame my stalled progress (Magrit, the Fell Omen is a real pain) on something other than just me. I’ve done some level grinding and exploration but I have a nagging feeling I may have chosen the wrong class type at the start. This in itself is a common worry with Soulsborne games, but I thought I knew what I was doing by picking Hero, but now I’m regretting him being so useless with magic and I’m wondering if I should start again while I still haven’t wasted that much time.
Curious to know what other readers and GC have picked. I see in their beginner’s guide they highlighted the Hero, Warrior, and Confessor as the best beginner choices. As uncertain as I am I have to say it’s refreshing to play a role-playing game where my choices actually matter. This modern idea of just redistributing your stats and skills whenever you want doesn’t sit well with me. Like everything else in a From game, it’s being forced to make a decision with consequences that makes it all worthwhile.Tension
GC: We picked the Confessor, who’s a good all-rounder that we haven’t regretted.
Unwanted extras I really wish publishers would stop promoting cross-play as a good thing. Between Xbox and PlayStation, sure, it’s fine. I don’t really see the point as most friends will
