The Bachelorette season 19 is quickly approaching, and leads Gabby Windey and Rachel Recchia declared that they are grateful they were able to film their season together. Though many may not remember, The Bachelorette season 11 featured two women as the leads, Kaitlyn Bristowe and Britt Nilsson. Kaitlyn and Britt were pitted against each other, and Kaitlyn was eventually chosen to be the season's bachelorette. The franchise never used this format again--until now. After Gabby and Rachel lost Clayton Echard's season of The Bachelor, fans thought both women should be given the opportunity to be the bachelorette, and the franchise granted the wish of the fans.
Though many were excited the women were going to be working together, there was lots of confusion about what the rules for the show would be. Eventually, it was revealed that Gabby and Rachel would not be in a competition and would have the opportunity to have their own love journeys. Once filming for the show ended, Bachelor alum Nick Viall said that producers of The Bachelorette season 19 thought the season was horrible to film, and this format would never be used again. Nick also said that the decision to have two leads was a rash decision; as such, many elements of the show posed challenges for producers.

Despite the producers' decision to never have two leads again, Gabby and Rachel shared with People that they were very grateful to have each other on this journey.
