Subway Surfers is soon going to drop a new event called Veggie Hunt. Yep, so you’ll be running through the vibrant streets, dodging trains, jumping over obstacles and collecting…, well, veggies! It’ll still be fast-paced, just healthier.
Starting August 26th, you’ll be collecting tomatoes, avocados and lettuce instead of just coins and power-ups. And if you manage to grab enough veggies to whip up a full sandwich, you’ll unlock a fresh new character.
Her name is Billy Bean. She’ll be here to encourage you (especially all the kids who play Subway Surfers) to eat more greens and contribute to a greener planet. It’s quite a healthy twist to the otherwise endless running task.
Veggie Hunt is actually part of Subway Surfers’ support for the Playing for the Planet Alliance’s 2024 Green Game Jam. In case you’re wondering, the Green Game Jam is a yearly challenge where game studios find creative ways to sprinkle some environmental awareness into their games.
The theme this year is to get all players to take real-world action for the planet. SYBO is joining in by adding eco-friendly elements to the game. So, you can check out the various fun facts about how our food choices impact the environment inside the game.
Subway Surfers isn’t just keeping Veggie Hunt in the game. They want you to jump on social media and share your favourite meat-free recipes or even show off your own version of the Veggie Hunt sandwich. The more everyone posts, the more in-game goodies everyone gets.
If you’re excited about the event, get the game from the Google Play Store. By the way, all of this is happening in Sydney, Australia, as that’s the destination of the Subway Surfers’ World Tour this time. Until September 15th, you get to explore a whole new set of food-themed boards like the Cook-Express and Veggie Velocity.
Before leaving, did you know Nintendo is shutting down Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp?
