WhatsApp is reportedly working on several new and interesting features to make your WhatsApp chats more interactive and engaging. Among several features, the newest one is filter chat feature that will allow WhatsApp users organize their chats. The Meta -owned instant messaging app is currently testing out the ability to filter chats. The new development was reported by WABetaInfo. They shared that WhatsApp is testing the option to filter messages. WhatsApp already offers chat filters but only for WhatsApp Business, both on its desktop and mobile apps. This allows users to filter chats based on unread messages, from contacts not saved in the phonebook as well as saved numbers, and groups. As spotted by WABetaInfo, the platform now intends to bring the same filters to regular non-business users as well.
Once the feature will be rolled out, you can spot the filter button. Do note that for WhatsApp Business users, the filter toggle only shows up when they use the search bar, however, for non-business users, the tab should always be visible. The WhatsApp development tracker has even shared the screen grab of the same. Since this feature is under development for standard WhatsApp accounts, nothing can be confirmed yet.
