This comes as President Macron attempts to raise the country's retirement age without a vote, leading many to accuse him of undermining democracy. Unsurprisingly, that hasn't gone down well with the French people - even young gamers.
As protestors continue to storm the streets of Paris, others are organising in a completely different medium - on their Animal Crossing islands. A group of dedicated New Horizons fans have gone viral, showing off their own protest complete with union merch and pro-worker messages. This could get a whole new demographic interested in industrial action, at a time when many are desperate to force Macron to backtrack from his controversial proposals.

"We are the CGT!" proudly declares Le Perchoir, a French Discord group for Animal Crossing players. This message and the merch players are sporting is proudly in support of the Confédération Générale du Travail, one of France's largest unions.
Le Perchoir have shared their demonstration all over social media, including TikTok. And speaking as someone on the gaming side of TikTok, it's fair to say that their efforts to spread the word are finding some success.
