The new season of Fortnite has gone down so well with some of the biggest streamers that they’re calling for a permanent no building mode.
When you think about it, it is pretty weird that as well as shooting people the other main gameplay mechanic in Fortnite is building.
It’s a hangover from Save the World, which was originally meant to be the main mode in Fortnite, back when the battle royale was only an afterthought. It’s stuck with the game ever since though, until it was removed at the beginning of Chapter 3 Season 2.
Most expect building to be back within a week or so but a number of top streamers, including Ninja and Tfue, have called for it to be removed permanently, or at least for there to be a separate ‘no building’ mode.
Although Richard ‘Ninja’ Blevins made his name with Fortnite he hasn’t played it publicly for some time but returned to it again for the start of Season 2.
After streaming for around nine hours he proclaimed it the ‘most fun I’ve had on Fortnite in years’.
Timothy ‘TimTheTatman’ Betar and Nicholas ‘NickEh30’ Amyoony agreed, with the latter tweeting that ‘Fortnite needs to make no building a permanent mode’ and getting more than 45,000 likes in return.
Turner ‘Tfue’ Tenney is also a fan, but the biggest surprise was that even Dr Disrespect praised the game, after years of disparaging Fortnite.
Between that and the number of likes for NickEh30’s tweet Epic Games are likely to take keen notice of how well the new option has gone over and it now wouldn’t be at all surprising to see it become a permanent mode.
