Soap is a Consumable Item in Elden Ring that can be used to clean off blood, dirt, and other accumulations on the body. The Tarnished journey isn't easy, and along the way, many adventurers will become covered with blood and grime, causing their appearance to become tattered and beaten. However, when applied, Soap will cause the traveler's looks to become pristine and spotless, as though they've rested at a Site of Grace.
Furthermore, Soap isn't only useful for grooming one's countenance. Washing oneself will also cause any buildup of an ailment to cease. For instance, if Tarnished roll in Poison or Scarlet Rot, the harmful status effect will continue to rise since their clothes have become tainted during the process. Yet, by using Soap, the buildup will halt and even slightly remove the accumulation of Poison. As a result, Soap can come in handy for those who would like to stop buildup without wasting Boluses or requiring Faith-based cleansing Spells.
