Even the most casual of gamers are likely aware that Fortnite is the undisputed king when it comes to franchise crossovers in a video game. The free-to-play title has seen an incredibly wide array of collaborations, including things like professional sports leagues and luxury brands, but perhaps none more so than Star Wars. This season sees yet another collab between it and Fortnite, bringing several iconic weapons from a galaxy far, far away onto the Fortnite island.
The return of Star Wars content to Fortnite ends a content hiatus from the franchise that ended up lasting only a few weeks. Both Lightsabers and the E-11 Blaster Rifle previously made a return to the map in time for Star Wars Day, May 4, and stuck around for a few weeks after. An Obi-Wan Kenobi skin was also added, modeled after his appearance in his eponymous DIsney+ series.
Fortnite Might Be Adding a ‘Firework Gun’
While the previous Star Wars content saw Stormtroopers setting up several checkpoints, Darth Vader himself is now landing on the island. The infamous Sith Lord, which is also the final skin for Chapter 3 Season 3's Battle Pass, will fly in on a Lambda-class shuttle to a random location on the island, with the spot marked by a red beacon and blue beam of light.
In order for players to obtain Darth Vader's Lightsaber, they must defeat the Dark side Force user himself. Boasting a plethora of powerful and ranged moves, Vader is one of Fortnite's hardest-ever bosses.
Making things even more difficult is the pair of loyal Stormtroopers that arrive and guard Darth Vader. Defeating these Stormtroopers is one of the few ways of getting the E-11 Blaster Rifle, the other available Star Wars weapon.
