Fortnite has become an incredibly major title in gaming, with most of it stemming from the collaborations it has made between brands, IPs, and pop culture icons ever since its release. The game's global success can be attributed to the characters that have been licensed out to appear in the free-to-play title. This includes heroes and villains from the iconic multimedia empire, Star Wars. Last year, the iconic bounty hunter Boba Fett was added to Fortnite, just in time for the Holiday season. The next Star Wars character to be added has a similar amount of iconography: Obi-Wan Kenobi.
For the uninitiated, Obi-Wan Kenobi was introduced in the first Star Wars trilogy as a Jedi Master and supporting character. A younger version of the character would then be seen in the prequel trilogy, portrayed by Ewan McGregor. General Kenobi would become this trilogy's deuteragonist alongside Anakin Skywalker. He's been frequently featured as a main character in other media released, with an upcoming Obi-Wan Kenobi miniseries on Disney+ premiering soon.

Fortnite itself teased Obi-Wan's inclusion earlier this month on May 4, appropriately enough. Obi-Wan himself is already a popular character, but it's likely this skin serves a dual-purpose in promoting the aforementioned TV series. This is evident with Obi-Wan's appearance in this game being based on his look from the show, which takes place after the events of the prequel trilogy.
The official tweet announcing his inclusion states that fans will get the chance to earn this set early in a special event known as the Obi-Wan Kenobi Cup on May 22. The tweet references a very memetic piece of Star Wars prequel
