Initially scheduled for a spring 2022 release, Forspoken has been delayed a second time to January of 2023. The game’s most recent release date was set to October 11, after getting a five-month delay. At the time, developer Luminous Productions stated that “getting it right” was the reason for the delay. Forspoken now has a new PC release date of January 24, 2023.
Today’s message isn’t much different than what we heard before. While the company says “game elements are now complete,” Forspoken has been delayed to ensure final polish. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is set to release on October 28. It makes sense that publisher Square Enix would want to vault over that particular gaming goliath.
“We would like to thank you for your continued support and patience on this journey,” Luminous wrote in its Twitter message. “Your excitement for the game inspires us every day and we cannot wait to share more about Forspoken with you later this Summer!”
