As soon as Apple has announced the dates for the next WWDC event, several tipsters started revealing their expectations from iOS 17. While the focus during the event will be on iOS 17, but amazingly, watchOS 10 is now tipped to roll out much bigger changes for Apple Watch users. The latest report by Bloomberg's Mark Gurman suggests that Apple may not make significant hardware changes to the Apple Watch this year, given that the company already introduced a new model, the Apple Watch Ultra, last year. However, there are expected to be noteworthy modifications to the user interface in watchOS 10, which may be more significant than those in iOS 17.
"It's important for watchOS to have a big year given that the Apple Watch hardware updates will be anything but major. The device is poised for a more modest year after big changes in 2022, when the first Apple Watch Ultra debuted," Mark Gurman added.
These updates may include new watch faces, workout modes, and additional native watch apps for Apple Watch users. He further said that Apple has plans for a major update to the watch hardware in 2024, which is expected to have a larger and custom-built display.
During the annual developer conference, WWDC, which is set to take place from June 5 to June 9, 2023, Apple is anticipated to unveil a new operating system watchOS 10 for Apple Watch users including watchOS 10. Apart from this, iOS 17, iPadOS 17, macOS 14, and tvOS 17 are also expected to be announced during the event.
Apart from the software announcements during the event, Apple is also expected to bring a new Mac Pro featuring an Apple silicon chip, a 15-inch MacBook Air and importantly, many expect the announcement of Apple's first mixed reality headset.
