Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopeshas many classes that can be unlocked through training. A class determines what skills and fighting techniques a character is able to use in battle. With this system, players can make their characters stronger, learn powerful skills, and then customize them to players' liking through changing classes.
Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes combines gameplay mechanics from previous Warriors titles such as Hyrule Warriors and other Fire Emblem titles, namely Fire Emblem: Three Houses.Characters are able to unlock classes in Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes by mastering lower-ranked classes through battle and using the appropriate seal. While each character has their own set of skills that makes them better or worse in specific classes, this feature allows the player to customize the makeup of their army however they want.

All classes are divided into ranks: Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced, and Master. To advance through the ranks, characters have to master the classes that precede their desired class in earlier ranks. For example, suppose a player wishes to make Ignatz into a Bow Knight. In that case, he will first have to master Fighter in Beginner, Archer in Intermediate, then Sniper in Advanced, which will finally lead to Bow Knight in Master.
Characters master their classes by going into battle with the desired class equipped and training at the Training Grounds. How close the character is to mastering it is represented by an experience bar and three stars.
