Final Fantasy 14 is giving all players a free Fantasia during Dawntrail to help them adapt to the new graphics update coming in the expansion. While the exact details are still being worked out, all Final Fantasy 14 fans can expect to get one of these cash shop items for free later this year.
While players can edit their hair, makeup, and some minor details about their character in-game via the Aesthetician, Fantasias allow them to change their characters' race, gender, and virtually every other detail about them besides their name. Fans can get a free Fantasia by completing the Final Fantasy 14: A Realm Reborn Main Scenario quest or through an old Collector’s Edition package, but the most common way of getting these items is via the Online Store, where they can be purchased for $10.
However, fans are soon going to get another free Fantasia to prepare them for Dawntrail. The expansion is introducing a graphics overhaul, including brand-new Final Fantasy 14 character models for the first time in over 10 years. To help players acclimate to their characters’ new appearances, Final Fantasy 14 director and producer Naoki Yoshida confirmed every fan would get a free Fantasia in Dawntrail. As reported by Square Enix fan news and resource site Nova Crystallis, exact details of this giveaway are not yet known, but players can expect this free item to be distributed around Dawntrail’s release this summer.
Using this free Fantasia, Final Fantasy 14 hopes players who are unsatisfied with their new character model will be able to make their character look more to their liking. This giveaway will also let fans experiment with the new customization options in Final Fantasy 14, which may contain improvements to details they previously did not like.
Dawntrail is also finally adding playable female Hrothgar to Final Fantasy 14. With this Fantasia giveaway, players who want to transform their characters into these fearsome felines will be able to do so free of charge.
